Exercising, eating healthy and still more meds...

I began working with Mr. D in 2014. He was a star patient and really wanted to get better. Like many other people he didn't understand why he was on so many medications and being told more exercise was needed. As you will see in his story he was very active as are many other people with diabetes. Here is his story:

Even though I am only 48 years old, I have been diabetic for 16 years. I have worked hard to control my diabetes and when I heard Dr. Gringeri’s ad on the radio for a Diabetes improvement seminar, I was intrigued. I listened to what Dr. Gringeri had to say at the seminar and it gave me real hope that my condition could be improved and I decided to work with him.

I was originally concerned about my diabetes. My doctor had me on medications for diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, what seemed like a cocktail of death.

I thought I was becoming resistant to medications. I was frustrated that I wasn’t getting better and my doctors kept telling me to take my medication and to exercise more. I am naturally a very active person. I play soccer, volleyball and even ride a unicycle and to be told I needed to exercise more was insulting.

When I came in to see Dr. Gringeri initially I thought doc was crazy to tell me to shed my medications. He was so nonchalant. I was in disbelief but he seemed to know a lot about digestion which is the core of diabetes. I am now off Simvisatin a cholesterol medication and I am completely off Actos which has serious side effects. I would have done this program just to get off this specific medication. When I started my glucose levels at their highest were 180-250 and I m now between 90-130. My A1C was originally 7.9 and rising. Within 6 months it dropped down to 6.1. When I started I was on 25 units of insulin a night, I am down to only 8 units.

I am very thankful for Dr. Gringeri; he has taught me a lot. Within days of starting his program I started seeing improvement in my blood glucose levels. The doctor and staff worked diligently with me on my progress. I feel like a million bucks. I have more energy, I feel younger, I sleep better and I am continuing to improve. I have been happy with my care here and I truly consider myself a success story.
